-Guide parents through the special education or Section 504 process

-Support parents to better understand the applicable laws, their rights, and their child's rights

-Provide recommendations and determine a strategy to move forward

-Help facilitate a positive collaborative working relationship between parents and their school

-Prepare for meetings with a statement of parent concerns

-Provide attentive and positive support at meetings

-Be available to answer your questions with understandable information

-Provide student coaching

-Keep an updated notebook of most relevant educational records

-Research all applicable information
