Since 2013, I've been working with the Maine DOE and a small group of stakeholders to develop a best practices guide on how to reduce and prevent restraint and seclusion in Maine schools.
Just recently, part of the project, "Emergency Prevention and De-escalation Strategies" was released on the Maine DOE Restraint and Seclusion website. You can view it under "Resources and Materials".
This dream is not fully realized, so please keep posted! Next to come will be "Response to the Use of Restraint and Seclusion".
